Argentina’s Wine Tourism: Discovering regions, people and traditions

Wine tourism is much more than visiting a winery. It is an opportunity to discover a destination through its wines, explore its history, meet the people who work the land, enjoy its gastronomy, admire its landscapes and connect with the identity of each region.
It is a way of travelling, learning and discovering the culture of a place.
In Argentina, every wine region has a different story to tell. From the high-altitude vineyards of the Northwest (NOA) to the landscapes of Patagonia, including Mendoza, San Juan, Córdoba, Entre Ríos and Buenos Aires, the country offers a remarkable diversity of wine tourism experiences.
Each destination has its own character, shaped by its climate, soils, grape varieties, traditions and people. Wineries open their doors to visitors, offering wine tastings, vineyard tours, gastronomic experiences and opportunities to learn about local winemaking traditions.

Enotourism also creates connections between wine production, gastronomy, culture and tourism. It contributes to regional development, supports local communities and helps visitors understand the identity of the places they explore.

The diversity of Argentina

Argentina’s wine regions offer a wide variety of landscapes and experiences. In the Northwest, vineyards grow at remarkable altitudes, surrounded by mountains and spectacular scenery. Mendoza is internationally recognised for its wine production and its wide range of winery experiences. San Juan combines its viticultural heritage with unique natural landscapes, while Córdoba and Entre Ríos offer wine tourism experiences shaped by their own regional identities and traditions. Buenos Aires, with its growing wine production and diverse tourism offerings. Further south, Patagonia stands out for its cooler climates, distinctive wine styles and beautiful landscapes.

Beyond the vineyards and wineries, each region invites visitors to discover its gastronomy, traditions, heritage and local communities.

Celebrating World Wine Tourism Day

On World Wine Tourism Day, we honor everyone who makes this activity possible: wine producers, wineries, tourism professionals, hospitality teams, guides and local communities who welcome visitors and share their knowledge and identity.

At Vinos y Pasiones, we continue to support wine education, culture and the development of wine tourism, helping more people discover the stories, landscapes and traditions behind every wine region.

Happy World Wine Tourism Day!
